My entry for the PokéBeach C.A.P. Project. The focus is "it must be a Fighting/Electric-Type that must make sense with this CAP's concept which is removing weather."
For more information on the guidelines of the Fakemon, the thread is here:
[link]The thought of something Electric / Fighting with the focus of removing weather made me think of something organic that used a machine in its body to change the weather. A weather machine, then a dynamo, is what came to mind immediately. Using that as a base, I thought of how something like that could come to be. I remembered the PokéDex entry of Magneton that stated its strong magnetic fields affected the weather of its surroundings, and I went with something similar to that. This Fakemon uses the dynamo on its back to draw energy from the weather around it - thus "draining" the weather away to nothing - to charge its attacks and body.
When thinking of something that could fit as a Fighting-Type I considered the animals that already represented that Type and the Mankey line came to mind. This worked, especially since the attacks included biting and punching moves. My first concept sketch reminded me of the Megaman X boss Spark Mandrill, so it worked with the monkey base (though I admit the end result feels more like a lion than ape). Going by base stats it was more defensive than offensive, so I kept its shape bulky and round. The hair was added to make it feel more organic than mechanical, to avoid it feeling more like a Steel-Type than a Fighting-Type. I considered making a Raijin, but since Thundurus now exists, I didn't want to take that path.
We're not supposed to have a name for them at this stage, but I personally call this guy
Mandramo (Mandrill + Dynamo).
Please don't use this artwork for anything. Thanks.
Enjoy.
If he ever evolves he'll be devastating.
Would love to see some abilities too
